28 Songs For Male Strippers – Music Suggestions For New And Experienced Male Dancers

Posted on June 25, 2019November 24, 2020

Over the years my mind has become trained to evaluate music on how well a song would work for a male stripper performance.

The selection of music is extremely important for a male stripper performance.  What is the theme?  What type of mood response are you desiring from the audience?  Do you possess the dance moves for a specific song?  I've selected 28 songs that can be used for a performance.  I've evaluated each of them based on five criteria.  Let me explain why they were chosen.

3 Goals For Male Strippers

Three Goals Of A Male Stripper Performance

There are three main goals for any male stripper performance.

ONE:   The first priority is to entertain the customers. Give the best performance you possibly can each time.

TWO:   Maintain and grow your fan base.  Interact with the audience and encourage them to add you to their circle.

THREE: Bring your followers to the event.   A bar, club or event is successful based on the number of people attending and the amount of sales.  The more followers you can bring through the door, the more likely you will be asked to return.

Music is a tool that you can use to achieve the three goals above.  By selecting the right music, you can entertain the customers (and your fan base), pull in other customers to become fans, and encourage them to follow you to other venues where you will be performing.

Music is only one ingredient but a very powerful one.  It is the base on which you build a strong performance combining underwear and costume, lighting, dance moves, and interacting with the audience.

5 Important Criteria For Selecting Music

With the importance of the role of music in mind, I evaluated each of the songs in my list below  based on five criteria.   A male stripper should ask the following questions when selecting music for their performance.

  • Does the song have a sexual connotation? We all know that sex sells.  A male stripper embodies sexual fantasies.  Other good themes would be "let's party", "feel good", "positive attitude" or something similar.
  • What type of effect will the song have on the audience?  Will they be motivated to sing along, dance, tip, etc.?  Keep in mind the composition of the audience. A more mature crowd, enjoys some of the older music.  A younger crowd enjoys more current music. A mix of both is always a good plan.
  •  How appropriate is the song for the costume I am wanting to wear?   Some music will work better with a costume theme than others.  For example, if wearing a cowboy costume, you might want to use country music.
  • Will a male stripper be able to dance and strip to the song?  This will depend on the stripper's dance skills.  If you basically rock back and forth and shuffle your feet a little, then find music that fits your dance skill level.  Slow songs are good for a stripper if you're mainly going to be taking your clothes off without much dancing.
  • How long is the song?  A good guide is to select a song that is between 3 and 4 minutes long.

The Male Stripper Custom Mix

There is no rule that says you have to stick with one song throughout the entire performance.  If you have the ability to create a mix or know someone who does, select songs with similar themes that you can mash together for a custom mix.

You can time the songs to change as you strip out of your costume.  A new song could come on when you reach your underwear.

Remember to keep the time of the mix between 3 to 4 minutes unless you are wanting a longer performance.

Each of the songs listed below are linked to YouTube so you can listen and evaluate for yourself.

R & B - Sexy And Seductive

28 Songs For Male StrippersR & B is the most frequently used style of music by male strippers.  I chose the following songs for their soulful sound which lends itself to sexual lyrics and seductive body movements.

Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake

Ride by SoMo

Sex You by Bando Jones

Grind With Me by Pretty Ricky

Red Light Special by TLC

Of course, if you use "Red Light Special", you'll almost have to have a flashing red light as a prop, going off during your performance.

Whistle by Flo Rida

I think "Whistle" would be a great song to use with a sports costume like a Coach or even a Referee.  The sexual innuendo is strong on this one.  If you can find underwear with a whistle graphic or print on them, they would be fun as well.

Earned It by The Weeknd

We Can Make Love by SoMo

Nice & Slow by Usher

Classic And Alternative Rock For The Bad Boy

28 Songs for Male StrippersClassic and Alternative Rock songs work well with the 'bad boy' image.

Consider this style of music for leather costumes, motor cycle fantasy, policeman, prison inmate, and others.

It would also work well for some superheroes and/or villains.

Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leopard

The Stroke by Billy Squier

Bad To The Bone by ZZ Top

Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi

Closer by Nine Inch Nails

Pop And Various For In Your Face Danger

28 Songs For Male StrippersThis group of songs is an eclectic mix of sexual innuendo, sexual-in-your-face lyrics, positive outlook on life and a hint of danger.  Let your imagination run wild.  When I hear the songs below, I think of leather, animal prints, mesh underwear and overt sexuality.

I threw in Andy Grammer's "Good To Be Alive" because I like the positive feeling it stirs.  In the video he is a bad boy, taking an expensive car that isn't his for a joy ride.

Freeek by George Michael

Body Moves by DNCE

S & M by Rhianna

Animals by Maroon 5

Good To Be Alive by Andy Grammer

I Know You Want Me by Pittbull

Country Music With Boots And A Hat

28 Songs For Male StrippersI am a fan of many different types of music including country.  In this group I have selected songs that have a country feel but have a more middle-of-the-road sound.

There is obvious sexuality,  a positive view of life, let's party, a 'just go for it' and be careful with the bad boy.  I added 'Bottoms Up' by Brantley Gilbert because I really like the song, and I think those dancing in gay clubs can play on the double meaning of the name.

Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy) by Big & Rich

Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood

Feelin It by Scottie McCreery

Hell Of A Night by Dustin Lynch

Bottoms Up by Brantley Gilbert

Classic Male Stripper Songs - Good, But...

28 Songs For Male StrippersThe songs below have been used and overused by male strippers in some locations.  It's no surprise, after all they are great songs for that purpose.  If you choose to use them, use them carefully.  You do not want your performance to be considered old and stale because of the overuse of the music by others.

Pony by Ginuwine

Hot In Herre by Nelly

Final Thoughts

I did not cover Latin music because I am not knowledgeable enough of the many artists.  I will say that if you perform using any song by Maluma, then I'll be up tipping.  If you aren't familiar with his music, click the link and watch him on YouTube.

Be on the lookout for new songs to use in your performances.  This doesn't necessarily mean the songs have to be brand new from current artist.  Find songs that are new because you have never performed using them.  Keep it fresh.

I recommend that you take some chill time and spend it on YouTube listening to a variety of different styles of music.  Keep a list of any that you might want to consider for future strip shows.
